Medium Term Visitor Tips

So more than just a week vacation or less than I’m an expert and I’m staying for years. Tips for people who maybe want to stay for a month or two to see if they like it. Where can they stay? What are good areas for short term rentals? Do they have to use Airbnb or are there other sites that are popular in Columbia? How to get short term, babysitters maids, etc..

I visited three cities in Colombia and stayed in Airbnb's. I found a FBk group for each city and asked people to please recommend a safe neigborhood. I got a LOT of responses. Then I read the reviews on each Airbnb I considered. I met my friend down there; she would be working during the day-conferences with clients via phone or zoom so we had to have high speed internet. If previous guests did'nt comment in their reviews about having excellent internet for working, I would contact the host to ask about the speed. We stayed in beautiful high rise apartments in all three cities. If you are planning on buying like I am, I would stay longer than a month or two in one place to be sure you like it. Explore the neighborhood for all the things you want to do. I found a gym I liked, a salsa dance school, and a spanish language school all within walking distance of one of the places I liked. And a chiropractor, too!! And of course countless restaurants and little cafes.
